On November 13, 2019, the National Assembly spent the whole day discussing the implementation of policies and laws on fire prevention and fighting in the period 2014 - 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On average, 3,287 fires occur each year, killing 87 people, injuring 206 people, causing property damage worth VND1,631.2 billion and 1,615.5 hectares of forest. On average, 9 fires occur each day, killing or injuring 1 person, causing property damage estimated at VND4.4 billion and 5.3 hectares of forest.<\/p>\n

On November 13, 2019, Quoc spent the whole day discussing fire prevention and fighting.<\/em><\/p>\n

The National Assembly's monitoring delegation said: Fires were caused by system and electrical equipment failures in 6,458 cases (accounting for 57.27%), and by negligence in the use of fire, gasoline and gas in 3,291 cases (accounting for 29.18%).<\/p>\n

Accordingly, electrical system failures are the major cause of short circuits and fires. Electrical fires have many causes such as: fires due to overload, short circuits, poor wire connections (loose, open), static electricity, electric arcs, etc. For example: During use, between the plug and the socket, etc., an arc is created, causing sparks. If the socket and plug are made of non-fireproof materials, the longer they are used, the higher the temperature will be, and these sparks will burn the surrounding plastic and cause short circuits.<\/p>\n

Currently, some electrical products and equipment are not required to apply fire safety standards, so the quality is not strictly managed from the input to the consumer. Therefore, electrical equipment using plastic that is not fireproof, if used, will potentially pose many risks of fire and explosion, causing serious consequences to property and human life.<\/p>\n

Therefore, in order for consumers to use safe products that are not likely to cause fire or explosion, there should be technical barriers to manage quality products circulating on the market.<\/p>\n
